All Beholding Beauty devotionals are written as short, worshipful reflections to help you meditate on God’s Word.
If one person sins against another, God can intercede for him, but if a person sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him? – 1 Samuel 2:25
If a person sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him?
Psalm 49:7 says, “Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life.” This means that we are in trouble, because we have most definitely sinned against the LORD! This means that we are on our own when judgment before the throne of God comes. Bad news indeed!
But…God instituted a rescue plan! He sent His beloved Son into this world to intercede for us! How did the Son of God do it? He lived a sinless life; He died on the cross in order to take our punishment for sin; He received our judgment for us; He took hell on our behalf; He rose from the dead to conquer sin and death, our two greatest enemies. He stepped in and took care of it all!
Now, through faith alone in Christ alone for salvation, we don’t need to fear death and judgment, because Christ conquered both for us! We have hope of forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, eternal life with Him in heaven, and the greatest blessing of seeing Him face to face and experiencing His everlasting, perfect love for us. Praise be to God for His marvelous intercession on our behalf!
