All Beholding Beauty devotionals are written as short, worshipful reflections to help you meditate on God’s Word.
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. – Ephesians 1:3-4
We have been blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing possible!
Praise God, it is not as if we received some of the Lord’s blessings upon conversion and were then told to wait for the remainder of His blessings for another day. We get them ALL upon our union with Christ through faith in Him! And how humbling to know that this magnificent gift comes to us purely by the Lord’s pure good pleasure in us!
He chose us in Christ because simply because it brought Him pleasure to choose us. There was nothing in us worthy of being chosen! This was most certainly a gracious choice which nobody deserved to receive.
And this was a powerful choice, because God did not merely choose to transfer us from hell to heaven, but He chose us to live holy and blameless lives before Him! He wants us to be holy for the sake of His Name!
For those who truly love Jesus, they will seek holiness because they desire to honor their Lord in every area of their lives.Click To TweetFor those who truly love Jesus, they will seek holiness because they desire to honor their Lord in every area of their lives. Though we can’t accomplish this apart from the Lord, we must strive, by His Spirit and by His grace, to put sin to death and to walk by the Spirit. May we rejoice in this beautiful news all the day long!
