Halle Takes a Stand: When You Want to Fit In
As in all of the volumes in this series, the illustrations are excellent! Joe Hox has done a fabulous job of creating beautiful pictures that accurately tell the story and capture the emotions of the characters in the story.
This story about Halle Hedgehog helps teach little ones (and adults!) about the topic of peer pressure. All of these books are based on the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation’s model of help and hope, meaning that the counsel is Bible-saturated and Christ-centered. The reader will easily find those elements present in this book. The story flows very well, with children wanting to know what happens next as they sit on the edge of their seats. The lessons that they learn from Scripture about fitting in are relevant and hope-giving.
As in all of these books in this series, there are “Back Pocket Bible Verses” in the back of the book, little perforated cards that are able to be carried around. This book also includes a few pages in the back that are addressed to parents in order to help them practically help their own children with this topic.
The illustrations, content, and practical resources that this book provides are all excellent! Parents will learn much from this book, and they will be further equipped to help their own children. I highly recommend this book to you! Tolle lege, take up and read!

Matt became a joyful follower of Jesus at the age of 21. He is very grateful to be a husband to Lindsey, and a father to four boys. He is an ordained minister (teaching elder) in the PCA. He previously served as a pastor of biblical counseling and is currently a corporate chaplain in southern Delaware. Matt received his Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and holds an advanced certification in biblical counseling from the Association of Biblical Counselors. In his free time, he loves playing with his boys, traveling with his wife, and reading (and buying!) books.
