I Still Do Devotional: 31 Days to a Stronger Marriage
Baker Books is the publisher of I Still Do Devotional: 31 Days to a Stronger Marriage by Dave Harvey. I wanted to check out this book since Harvey’s When Sinners Say I Do was hands-down my favorite book on marriage early on in my own marriage. I’m really glad to see some of Harvey’s works being placed in a devotional format, since I think more people will be prone to read it in this particular layout.
I Still Do is a very nice sized book. Though it’s close to 200 pages, the physical dimensions of the book are rather small, so it won’t take long to read through each devotional. This book is built upon the glorious Word of God. Each devotional has a chapter heading, followed by pertinent Scripture passages. Then there is one verse written out that the devotional is mainly written about. Most of the devotionals are 5-6 pages each. Each devotional then ends with either some questions to think/talk about, or a small prayer to pray together. That’s the format of the book.
In regards to the content, I think that Harvey provides a gift to the church. There is so much wisdom in this little book. Harvey breaks the devotional up into three main sections:
- Starting Together
- Sticking Together
- Ending Together
It appears that Harvey takes much of what he has written in his previous marriage books and brought that marital wisdom and advice into one little book. I think that couples will greatly benefit from it. I gladly commend this book to you.

Matt became a joyful follower of Jesus at the age of 21. He is very grateful to be a husband to Lindsey, and a father to four boys. He is an ordained minister (teaching elder) in the PCA. He previously served as a pastor of biblical counseling and is currently a corporate chaplain in southern Delaware. Matt received his Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and holds an advanced certification in biblical counseling from the Association of Biblical Counselors. In his free time, he loves playing with his boys, traveling with his wife, and reading (and buying!) books.
