Christian Easter celebrations should include more than egg hunts and chocolate bunnies. Bring your focus back on the truth of our risen Lord with these Christ-centered books and activities for the entire family!
Easter is a very special time of year for Christians, as it marks a celebration of the sacrificial death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Simply put, these events set Christianity apart from all other religions.
While it is wonderful and necessary to set aside time leading up to the Easter holiday to focus on these amazing events, it is just as essential for us to keep in mind the truth of the gospel on a daily basis all year long. Our gratitude for the sacrificial love of Christ, who willingly took on death (the full punishment for sin which we fully deserved), should spill over into every single day we live.

Easter Activities
- The Easter Story Egg: Use a set of 7 wooden nesting eggs and corresponding hardcover book to tell the Easter story. Children may open one egg per day (from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday), or you may choose to work through the entire set in just one sitting. (Our family is a huge fan of these eggs! We love the high-quality hand carved eggs, but this system also makes it so simple to teach brief and meaningful lessons to our little ones about Easter’s true meaning in our lives. The nesting eggs are durable and perfectly sized for little hands to explore. Check out The Easter Story Egg at Star Kids Company, or Amazon.)
- Resurrection Eggs: Tell the Easter story using a dozen plastic eggs filled with symbols of Christ’s journey to the cross (If you’d rather create your own Resurrection eggs, here is a tutorial.)
- Easter Scavenger Hunt: Walk through the Easter story using Bible verses in this fun activity (to do inside or outside)!
- Printable Easter Banner with Daily Devotions: Teach your family who Jesus is by displaying this printable banner and reading the short daily devotions. Kids will learn Jesus Is: God, Lord, Creator, Coming Soon, and more!
